Purple Class planning overview for Spring Term 2012
January – February half term
- Literacy and Phonics- CCVC and CVCC words, constructing sentences and basic punctuation. Narrative, traditional and fairy stories, poetry using the senses as a stimulus.
- Maths- Ordering numbers to 20 and counting in ones and tens. Addition and subtraction including adding more than two numbers. 3D shapes, weight and length, Data handling.
- Science- Ourselves, keeping healthy and finding out about living creatures.
- History- Toys from the olden days.
- ICT- Data handling, recording information on the computer making pictograms.
- RE- The story of Moses.
- Art- observational drawing and painting.
- PE- Large apparatus PE and Dance.
- PSHE- Olympic values and how they relate to us and the way we behave.
February half term – March
- Literacy and phonics- Reading and writing sentences. Nonfiction recounts and using a dictionary. Narrative traditional and fairy stories.
- Maths- Bridging ten, place value, shape, position and direction, 2D shapes and symmetry, time, days of the week and months, count in two’s and ten’s, halves and doubles.
- Science- materials, sorting and their properties. Growing plants. Where I live?
- History- houses and homes.
- ICT- Labelling, using text and pictures.
- RE- Easter.
- Art- Celebration cards.
- PE- Large apparatus PE and aiming games.
- PSHE- Getting on and falling out, resolving conflicts.
