Year 1 Overview planning for Spring Term 2013

 April to May half term

Literacy and Phonics – CCVC and CVCC   words, sentence structure and basic sentence punctuation.

• Fantasy Story – writing a fantasy setting of our own. Poetry – we will share a variety of poems and write one of our own.
• Maths –  Addition and subtraction of numbers such as 11 and 12. One Step problems solving.
• Science – Growning Plants, what plants need to survive and the parts of the plant.
• History – Our local area. We will find out about our local area, what buildings are used for and how old they are.
• ICT – Labelling.
• RE – Myself
• Design Technology – Healthy food, vegetables and fruit
• PE – Developing Partner work
• PSHE – Relationships

May to July half term

Literacy and Phonics – In Phonics we will be looking at long vowel sounds and basic sentence structure

• Maths – Handling data, telling the time and problem solving.
• Science – Ourselves
• History – Our Local Area. The history of some of the buildings in our local area
• ICT – Assembling text
• RE – Myself
• Art – What is sculpture?
• PE – Preparing for Sport’s Day
• PSHE – Change
