 Cake Sales

Many thanks to Leah (Bramley), Ria (Jazz) and their parents for organising the cake sale earlier this week. They raised an amazing £81 to go with race for life money raised by Mum all towards the cancer research charity. A worthy charity and congratulations to Leah and Ria for volunteering to do something very worthwhile to help and support other people.

Our next cake sale will be in the week of 20th May. Sophie Popplewell (Jazz) is organising this one, this time for a local charity The Thames Hospice Care. I hope you will again support this. More details of the actual date nearer to the time.

I am very impressed with the volunteering attitude of all of our pupils and striving to raise money to help local charities and people less fortunate than themselves. If you wish to follow their example and do some volunteering we are always willing for volunteers to come into school and help with gardening, listening to children read, cooking, doing art activities etc.

 Contact numbers

Recently we have had a couple of occasions when all four phone numbers that we hold for a child have been unavailable or discontinued. It is crucial that you keep us updated with contact details if you change job, change mobile phone or your emergency contact person changes their details. Please check with the office if you have changed any details recently and make sure we are able to contact you directly in case of an emergency.

 PTFA Fabric Recycling

We will be having another fabric recycling day just before May half term. Save up and sort out any old clothes or bedding etc made of fabric which can be recycled, empty bags will be sent home with each child, fill a bag and return it to school for collection. This is an excellent way for the PTFA to raise more money for your children at school and you can have a spring clear out!

The bags will be delivered to school on Tuesday 14th May and collected on Tuesday 21st May. We have no facility to store the full bags so please return them on the morning of 21st May, thank you.

 Old paint brushes.

Do you have any clean used paint brushes, big or small? The children use them with water to ‘pretend’ paint all around the playground and Foundation Stage area. Please send them into the school office or directly to the Nursery.

 Sayers Croft

What a great time was had by Crispin Class earlier this week. They returned safe and sound but exceptionally tired having had amazing adventures doing a river study, tree top walk way, blind fold trail and more. I know parents of these children will join me in thanking Ms Spratt, Ms Athwal and Mrs Mc Murray for their care, guidance and enthusiasm in taking Crispin class away overnight!

 Bank holiday Monday.

I would like to remind you that it is a Bank Holiday on Monday 6th May and school will be closed.

 Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend

Best wishes - Janet Mills
